RFQ Released For Olkaria 140 MW Geothermal Power Project
Earlier today, the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen), a client of K&M, released a request for qualifications (RFQ) for a 140 MW geothermal power project. KenGen prepared the RFQ with support from K&M’s transaction services team, under the direction of Mr. Derek Martin, managing director of transaction services. K&M is serving as the project’s PPP transaction advisor.
The RFQ’s release marks a major milestone for the Olkaria project. K&M will continue to support KenGen during procurement and through financial close.
The plant will be located in Olkaria-Naivasha, Kenya. It is being tendered on a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) basis. Bidders are being asked to submit qualifications for supplying, constructing, commissioning, operating, and maintaining it.
KenGen is the leading electricity generation company in Kenya. Previously, K&M worked with KenGen on its Seven Forks 40MW Solar Project.
