Alfonso Guzman, President of K&M Advisors, LLC

Washington, DC—We are pleased to announce that Alfonso Guzman has been appointed as new President of K&M Advisors LLC.

Alfonso’s arrival on May 12, 2014 marked the beginning of a new and exciting era for K&M,” said William J Kappaz, Chairman of K&M and CEO of its parent company The Dorado Group. “Alfonso brings significant hands on experience structuring and implementing infrastructure transactions, policies and regulations, and has an impressive track record growing a leading global advisory business” he stated.

For the last 28 years K&M has advised governments and private investors in 51 nations, developed more than 40GW of new generation capacity that mobilized more than US$45 billion in private capital.

As the new President for K&M, Mr. Guzman will carry on his successful track record, expand services into new sectors and countries, and continue to improve the lives of many around the world. “My understanding of private and governmental perspectives enables me to give incisive, practical and solutions-oriented advice in a broad range of industry sectors,” said Mr. Guzman. “I’m glad to have joined K&M Advisors and its team of experts; and look forward to furthering its outstanding record of success, achieved with the highest standard ethics, integrity and professionalism.” 

Mr. Guzman has worked for 21 years advising governments and investors in 36 countries, on development of infrastructure policies and projects.  Prior to K&M, Mr. Guzman was Managing Director of the Castalia office in Washington D.C., which he opened in 2006 and led its growth thereafter. Before Castalia, he was a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche’s Utilities and Infrastructure team in nation’s capital. His professional career also includes senior positions with the government of Colombia and an engineering firm in that country. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in civil engineering, and also a Master’s in business and finance from the London Business School.
