July, 2002:

K&M announces that its Meghnaghat project won the the Euromoney Institutional Investor/ Project Finance’s 2001 “Asia Power Deal of the Year” award, and  its engagement to structure the second IPP in Jordan

March, 2002: 

K&M celebrates 15 years of business, and announces its engagement to structure a private wastewater treatment project in Pereira, Colombia.

September, 2001:

K&M announced its completion of an independent technical assessment of the 475MW Hugo power plant in Oklahoma, and attends a groundbreaking ceremony on TECO Power Service’s 599MW independent power project in Arkansas, for which it is providing owners’ engineer services.

June, 2001:

K&M Chairman Michael Kappaz visits Seoul and meets with executives of Korea Gas Corporation, and announces its engagement to support the Saudi Petrochemical Company develop a co generation power plant on an IPP/BOT Basis.

January, 2001:

K&M discusses its projects around Asia, including the Ilijan project in the Philippines, POWERGRID in India, and a training program for junior engineers in Egypt.

September, 2000:

K&M marks the beginning of commercial operations for its TermoCandelaria project in Colombia, and K&M’s Colombia based affiliate won the Colombian- American Chamber of Commerce’s 1999 “Company of the Year” award

May, 2000:

KMR Power, a company in the K&M family, celebrates winning Project Finance‘s “Latin America Merchant Power Deal of the Year” award of its 320MW TermoCandelaria power plant project, and K&M Chairman Michael Kappaz delivers a presentation on BOO and BOOT financing schemes at the World Water Forum

December, 1999:

K&M celebrates the Financial Times shortlisting its TermoCandelarina and Azito power projects for the “Boldest Successful Investment Decision” award in the 1999 Energy Awards.

September, 1999:

KMR, a company in the K&M family, announces the financial close of TermoCandelaria, a 314MW gas-fired plant in Colombia, and K&M executives participated in conferences, trade missions, power delegation briefings, meetings, and presentations.

June, 1999:

K&M celebrates the commercial operation of the Termovalle power plant in Colombia, begins construction on its 1,200MW Ilijan project in the Philippines, and marks financial close for its Azito Thermal Power Project, Cote d’Ivoire’s first commercially financed IPP.

January, 1999:

K&M marks a decade of work in Egypt, and K&M Chairman Michael Kappaz meets with Colombian President Andres Pastrana during his state visit to Washington, DC and attends an official dinner in honor of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
